PARK RULES:

• No alcohol in the park, if anyone is caught with alcohol in the complex they will be asked to leave the complex.
• No pets of any kind allowed in the complex
• No outside food or drink, this means do not bring anything in with you.
• RESPECT THE UMPIRES AND THEIR DECISIONS

PLAYING RULES:

T-Ball:

• Games will be 70 minutes time period but will not start a new innings with 10 or less minutes on the clock.
• There will be a 6 foot hit line.
• Batting everyone will bat after the last child has batted either is called out or scored then the teams will switch.
• Defense up to 12 players on the field
• So everyone will play either defense or hit
• Games can end in a tie

Coach Pitch:

• Games will be 70 minutes time period but will not start a new inning with 10 or less minutes on the clock. These are 6 inning games, so games are called by either time limit or 6 innings whichever comes first.
• Inning when a team is batting they either get three outs or scores 5 rules an innings
• The batter gets 6 pitches or three strikes, whichever comes first; if batter fouls of the 6th pitch he/she will get one more pitch
• There can only be 9 defensive players but there are unlimited substitutions, but every can bat that is playing in the game
• When the ball is thrown in and it goes back to the pitcher in the pitching area, and the runners are not more than half ways to the next base they must go back to the last base touched.
• Cannot steel home on a passed ball
• You can use regulation baseballs or RIF balls
• Games can end in a tie

Player Pitch (Boys and Girls):

• Baseball rules do apply with league exceptions
• Games will be 90 minutes time period but will not a new inning with 10 minutes or less on the clock.
• These games are 6 inning or run rule games, which is 12 runs after 3 or 8 after 4.
• You can only play 9 players on defense and you can only bat 9 players, and you can use the DH if coaches want to.
• Substitutions are regulated
• Line ups must be turned in to the umpire and substitutions must be reported to the umpires.
• The home teams will keep the game’s score book.
• Regulation baseballs will be used. Please provide 2 balls when you come to the umpires meeting before the game.
• 9U and 10U cannot steel home on a passed ball
• There are lead offs and steels
• No stalling it is up to the umpire weather to make this judgment call

ALL MANGERS / COACHES

• You are responsible for your players, dugout, and spectators.
• You are responsible to make sure that your equipment is up to safety standards, like catchers gear, bats, and most important batting helmets.
• Try to teach your team good sportsmanship towards the other team and the umpires
• We will hand out schedules to the managers / coaches, plus they will be on the complexes website, straffordsportscomplex.org

PLAYING RULES:
We will be playing by USSSA rules, with the exception of special league rules.

• BALLS: Men can hit either the 12 inch Classic M or Classic Plus
• Women can hit any USSSA ball as long as it optic yellow and Blue stitched. Women also have the choice of hitting the 11 inch or the 12 inch ball, if they want to.

NOTE ON BALLS- It is up to the pitcher to make sure that the balls are legal, a USSSA stamped ball, if it is later discovered that a non-legal ball is in play everything will stay the way it is and the ball will be removed and play will resume as is.

• BATS: The only Illegal bats are Miken Ultra I and II and Senior League Bats

In league play you can use any approved USSSA bat, but in State qualifier
Tournament s you must have the bats with the new USSSA stamp

• GAME: Actual game time is 58 minutes we play until the clock reaches 0:00 or 7

Innings or run rule and games starts at 6:30, 7:30, 8:30 & 9:30 Game will try and start on time unless the prior game runs over the only game with a grace period is the 6:30 and it’s a 10 min. period after that it is a forfeit, but the clock starts at 6:30, Game time is forfeit time. Run rules are 15 after 3 and 10 after 5.Teams can start a game with 8 players and can bat 12 in mixed 6 men and 6 women. Mixed can start with 9 but it has to be 5 women and 4 men. Please keep your bats in your dugout not along the fence. Also try and keep the dugout gates closed. To help keep the game rolling always try to keep an extra ball ready to go in when a ball goes out of play.
One more thing please if you’re out collecting Homerun balls please don’t take someone else’s balls just return them to their rightful owner.
Courtesy runners are allowed but it has to be the last out made and must beof the same gender, in mixed.

MAIN EJECTION ARE:

1. Arguing with the umpire on balls and strikes and their calls. Remember their decisions are final
2. Profanity
3. Throwing your bat out of anger or frustration that touches chain link or another player
4. Fake tags
5. Intoxication
6. Fighting
7. Indecent actions or gestures
8. Altered or illegal bat
9. Destroying park property or personal property

MANAGERS:

Remember it is your job to tell your team or relay the information that is discussed at the Umpire’s meeting at the plate before the game.
Managers you are responsible for the actions of your team and your spectators.
Managers, if you would please show a little early for your games cause we will be doing line up cards for the games for now on.
Just remember this there are a lot of children running around the park and sometimes the actions on the field are repeated at home and this might be your child that sees something they shouldn’t.

REMEMBER WE ARE OUT HERE TO HAVE FUN AND PLAY BALL.

PITCHER PROTECTION RULE

(THIS RULED WILL BE ENFORCED)

• Any sharply hit ball that makes contact with the pitchers, body or glove, which means the ball, must hit the pitcher, while he or she is on the pitching rubber or in the pitching plate, which is the area that is 6 feet directly behind the rubber. This also does include any ball that makes contact with the ground first.
• The first time the pitcher is hit it will be a dead ball out, which means the batter is out.
• The second time the pitcher is hit, in the same game; by the same player, it will be a dead ball out, batter will be called out, and that player, he or she, will be ejected and the runner closest to home will also be called out.
• Remember that this rule is an umpire’s judgment call.

REMINDERS

If teams would please pick up your trash in the dugouts after your game so the next team does not have to deal with it.
